Film: "Addicted to Plastic"
December 4, 2009 (Friday): For better and for worse, no ecosystem or segment of human activity has escaped the shrink-wrapped grasp of plastic. Addicted to Plastic is a global journey to investigate what we really know about the material of a thousand uses and why there's so much of it. On the way we discover a toxic legacy, and the men and women dedicated to cleaning it up. A “must see” before holiday shopping. Taking on topics ranging from clean air activism to sustainable agriculture, the Epworth United Methodist Church Green Team and the Heartlands Group of the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter continue their eco-film series for the Fall of 2009. All are welcome to attend these free movies at 7 p.m. at the church, 6450 Allisonville Road, and join in the thoughtful and lively discussion afterward. Popcorn, soft drinks and other snacks will be served. Free-will donations will be accepted to help offset costs. For more information on the program or the Epworth Green Team, call Epworth at 251-1481.
