The Sierra Club has long been a leader in the national "U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement" program ("Cool Cities" in Sierra Club terminology) to promote energy conservation and efficiency. Last spring Indianapolis signed on to the program and Sierra celebrated the event at our Earth Day display. The City's program has a broad environmental vision that goes beyond just the issue. Tim Method, of the City of Indianapolis (and previously Deputy Commissioner of IDEM) will brief us on what the City has accomplished to date and where they are headed. The Mayor has established a "Green Commission" which is chaired by a long time very active Sierra Club member.
